Our Commitment
We are dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of all staff, clients, contractors, and visitors. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Employer Responsibilities
- • Provide a safe workplace, equipment, and emergency arrangements
- • Identify and manage risks effectively
- • Supply PPE and training (manual handling, working at height, driving safety)
- • Communicate clearly on safety matters
- • Support staff mental health and wellbeing
- • Review and improve safety practices regularly
Staff Responsibilities
- • Take care of your own safety and that of others
- • Follow safety instructions and training
- • Report hazards, risks, or concerns immediately
- • Keep the workplace tidy and hazard
- • Co-operate in investigations and safety drills
Equipment Safety
- • Use equipment only as trained and instructed
- • Report faults or damage immediately
- • Do not interfere with safety equipment
- • Attempt repairs only if authorized
Accidents & First Aid
- • Report all accidents (even minor) to the Health & Safety Officer
- • Accident details must be recorded in the Accident Book
- • First aiders and facilities are listed on site notice boards
- • In emergencies, call +94 707 995 530 for the duty first aider
Fire & Emergency Evacuation
- • Know fire exits, extinguishers, and evacuation routes
- • Follow fire warden instructions during alarms or drills
- • Fire drills held at least once every 12 months
- • On discovering a fire:
- ★ Trigger the nearest alarm
- ★ Notify reception if safe
- ★ Fight fire only if trained
- • On hearing the alarm:
- ★ Stay calm, evacuate quickly (no running, no lifts)
- ★ Do not collect belongings
- ★ Remain outside until cleared to re-enter
Risk Assessments & Manual Handling
- • Risks are assessed regularly; managers ensure recommendations are implemented
- • PPE provided where risks cannot be eliminated
- • Manual handling training available — avoid lifting heavy loads where possible
Non-Compliance
Failure to follow safety rules may result in disciplinary action, up to dismissal.
